Asset managers are accelerating plans to digitise client engagement. Accessibility of data will become even more important to their clients in a post-pandemic world.

Digitisation means asset managers can leverage information to a global client base from their office or home and engagement levels with existing clients have increased markedly. However, prospecting will become increasingly difficult. Asset managers are currently trading on existing client relationship capital but expect that to erode over time. This could well be a barrier to entry for asset managers coming to a new market or business segment – they may be disadvantaged in building new relationships.
